3rd Line Support Engineer – Birmingham
£50,000 – £54,000 + excellent benefits
An experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer is required to support and enhance the IT infrastructure of a Birmingham-based organisation. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on resolving complex technical issues and acting as the highest point of escalation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Act as 3rd line escalation for complex incidents and problems
  • Support and maintain infrastructure across servers, networks, cloud, and virtual platforms
  • Provide technical guidance to 1st and 2nd line teams
  • Ensure systems are secure, resilient, and compliant (NIST, Cyber Essentials)
  • Support infrastructure projects and work with third-party suppliers
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in a senior 3rd line or infrastructure support role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
  • Experience with cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), networking, and firewalls
  • ITIL experience (incident, problem, and change management)
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
